Lions of District 1-H mark May 31, 2008 on your calendar as a "Must Go To" activity. That is the date of this year's Lions University. This will be the third annual Lions University and will be bigger and better than ever. This is where your club officers will receive their training for the year ahead. It is also a place where every Lions has the opportunity to learn more about what is happening in our district, the state, and with Lions International. Your MERLOW Team has planned a tremendous program for your. Lets take a preview of the Program.

Presidents training needed to be a 100% President will be presented. Secretaries training will be conducted in both the paper and electronic filing of reports. Publishing better Newsletters will be taught. We will have training for the club Treasurer. The Lions Alert program will have a session to help us expand on a program that has helped Lions in District 1-H many times. We will explore the District, Lions of Illinois Foundation, and International Web sites. Does you club need more members? We have the session for you! How can we better promote our clubs in the community? We will have a discussion on LCIF and LIF. All clubs need to file a tax form, we will show you how. And we will have our Foundation Executive Director as our featured speaker. All of this will hapapen from 8AM to Noon, leaving the afternoon to play golf, do those "Honey, do" jobs or just enjoy a Saturday afternoon after a delightful morning.

You will also want to bring your Certificate with your completion stickers to put your course stickers from this year on. Some of you are getting close to earning your "Bachelor of Lionism" degree. We hope to have a example of the Diploma at the District Convention. The Lions University will be held at the Prairie Inn Best Western, Galesburg, Illinois.  8AM to 8:30 AM registration and again, we will be done by noon. See you there!!!!!
